PRE-DOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW, Economics, to join Professor Tobias Salz and support work at all stages of the research process on projects in the field of industrial organization, with particular emphasis on digital markets and transportation markets.  Will help build code for mathematical models of various markets, such as online platforms and transportation markets.  Specific responsibilities include collating, cleaning, and organizing data; analyzing data using statistical software; and presenting results and editing papers for publication. 

The position offers the opportunity to gain exposure to and training in a broad set of economic research topics and methodologies. Research fellows will work on research projects with Profesor Salz and his co-authors at MIT, the University of Chicago, and the University of Pennsylvania. The role will entail close collaboration with all stages of the research process on projects in industrial organization.  

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in economics, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field; at least two years’ specialized experience with quantitative data analysis, research methods, and/or social sciences research (this may include coursework or experience gained as an undergraduate); and strong quantitative and programming skills. PREFERRED:  strong analytical skills; and coding skills in one or more of the following–Julia, Matlab, and Python.  Job #21995
