Postdoctoral Scientist

We are seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic post-doctoral scientist to join a growing research programme in mechanisms of airways inflammation and infection led by A/Prof Timothy Hinks; based at the Respiratory Medicine Unit, within the Nuffield Department of Medicine at the John Radcliffe Hospital. The successful candidate will report to Prof Hinks. The post holder will be a member of a research group with responsibility for carrying out research for in the murine studies, and will also provide guidance to less experienced members of the research group, including research assistants, technicians, and PhD and project students.
You will manage your own academic research and administrative activities with input from the Principal Investigator. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines. You will test hypotheses and analyse scientific data from a variety of sources, reviewing and refining working hypotheses as appropriate.
You will hold a relevant PhD, or be close to completion of, a PhD/DPhil. You will have a high level of flow cytometry experience with ability to use and analyse multi-colour flow data. It is desirable to have experience with microbiological techniques.
The post is full time and fixed-term until 30/11/2023.
