Postdoctoral Researcher/Technician in the Laboratory of Chemical Nanotechnology (Prof. Nako Nakatsuka): Nanoscale Biosensors for Parkinson’s Disease

Thanks to the Sandoz Family Foundation Grant, the Laboratory of Chemical Nanotechnology (CHEMINA) will be hiring a postdoc/technician for a 3-year focused project with the vision of quantifying biomarkers in a clinical study for Parkinson’s disease. Join our vision of translating chemical biosensors from the lab to the clinic to impact the lives of patients.
Your mission :

To build an automated, multiplexed biosensing system that would enable screening of biomarkers in >300 patient clinical samples we will receive in collaboration with a medical university in the Netherlands.

Main duties and responsibilities include :
– Lead this project on automated chemical biosensors independently and execute milestones set for each year based on the grant.
– Communicate the research performed at internal meetings as well as at conferences and through publications in high-impact scientific journals
– Be a pro-active member, contributor, and manager in the lab as a senior member of a starting research group
– Contribute to teaching and mentorship in the lab of PhD and Master’s students

Your profile :

– Either a Master’s or PhD degree with a proven track record in executing high-impact research through either publications or industry experience.
– Strong analytical capacity for solving problems and driving technological developments.
– Skills of direct interest include prior experience with electronic biosensors, analytical measurements, robotics and automation, software programming (Python).
– Excellent organizational skills are required (project management).
– Sense of responsibility, motivation, drive, and team-oriented mindset (supervision).
– Fluency in English (both oral and written expression)
