Choppin Hall – ChemistryPay Grade: Other AcademicJob Description:The Rivera group in the Louisiana State University Department of Chemistry is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher.Job Duties60% Carry out research aimed at understanding iron metabolism in the opportunistic pathogens Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Acinetobacter baumannii. Carry out research aimed at discovering small molecules for perturbing iron metabolism in bacteria and for interfering with the bacterial biofilm lifestyle10% Data collection and analysis on new project aimed at screening for molecules that can kill pathogens klebsiella pneumonie and enterobacter species.10% Assist with manuscript, report, and proposal writing, and assist with the supervision of graduate and undergraduate studentsMinimum QualificationsPhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology or related fieldMinimum 1 year of related experiencePreferred QualificationsExperience with bacterial biofilmsMinimum 2 years of related experienceAdditional Job Description:Special Instructions: Please provide cover letter, CV, and three professional references, including name, title, phone number and e-mail address.
