Postdoctoral Researcher

We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research to join the Jenner institute, at the Nuffield Department of Medicine.

You will be responsible for carrying out research in vaccine development against, but not limited to, a broad range of viral infectious diseases. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines. You will conduct rigorous scientific research to the highest standards of the field. You will act as a source of information and advice to other members of the group on scientific protocols and experimental techniques.

It is essential that you hold a PhD/DPhil (or close to completion) in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field, together with relevant and proven wet-lab experience in mRNA biology, biogenesis, biosynthesis and modifications for de novo mRNA synthesis. You will possess sufficient specialist knowledge in cellular and molecular biology, with experience working with DNA, in vitro transcription, RNA and biochemistry modification of nucleotide molecules. Having excellent communication skills, including the ability to write for publication, present research proposals and results, and represent the research group at meetings is also essential.
