Postdoctoral Research Positions – Volatiles in Earth and Planets

The Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Science (GIGCAS), invites applications for two postdoctoral research positions. We seek outstanding scientists who lead creative investigations into the origin and evolution of volatiles (C-N-H-S-halogens) in the Earth and/or other planetary bodies.

We encourage people with interests in geochemistry, cosmochemistry and/or experimental petrology to apply.

Start date is negotiable, with a target of September 1, 2023. The initial term of the position will be one year, renewable for two more years. The position comes with a competitive salary plus benefits as well as independent research funds. Applications will be reviewed in a daily basis. GIGCAS is one of the top Chinese research institutions in Earth and environmental sciences. GIGCAS is committed to research in a series of fields, including isotope geochemistry, organic geochemistry, sedimentary geochemistry, elemental geochemistry, etc. The facilities housed in GIGCAS include electron microbe, Raman spectroscopy, FTIR, SIMS, NanoSIMS, LA-ICPMS, MC-ICPMS, and a series of high-pressure experimental apparatus (piton cylinder, multi-anvils, and DAC).
