About This Opportunity
The Functional Imaging and Brain Injury Laboratory directed by Dr. Fatima Nasrallah is seeking a post-doctoral fellow to work on a project supported by the Motor Accident Insurance Commission to investigate the spatial and temporal structural and functional changes in the brain following a brain injury using Magnetic Resonance Imaging. The work will also investigate early neuroimaging markers following traumatic brain injury.

Applicants must have a Ph.D in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, computational neuroscience, or relevant discipline. The candidate must have demonstrated image processing skills with strong analytical, quantitative and programming skills (e.g., Matlab, Python). Artificial intelligence expertise is a plus.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Research
-
Analysis of magnetic resonance imaging data.
-
Interpretation of results;
-
Assist in writing up the results for publication.
2. Citizenship and Service

Shows leadership of self through collaboration and active participation in priority activities for the unit

Provide support to other academic positions and unit operations as needed during other team members absences.

Begin to develop external links and partnerships by cultivating relationships with industry, government departments, professional bodies and the wider community.

About You
Essential
-
PhD or close to completion in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, computational neuroscience, or relevant discipline..

Experience with Magnetic Resonance Imaging such as functional MRI, Perfusion Imaging which should be reflected as data-based publications;

Demonstrate data analysis skills with a strong background in programming;

Demonstrated ability to bring research to publication, excellent organizational and time management skills as well as a high level of written, oral and interpersonal skills;

Excellent communication skills;

Ability to work independently and collaboratively;

Excellent attention to detail;

Awareness of laboratory safety, occupational health and safety protocols; Evidence of a contribution to research

An appointment to this position is subject to the verification of the highest academic qualification from the conferring institution.
What We Can Offer
This is a Full-time or Part-time, Fixed-term position until 31 December 2022 (this contract may not be renewable due to funding), at Academic Level A or Academic Level B.
The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $72,144.35 to $120,570.86 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $84,408.89 to $141,067.91 per annum.
