The Centre for Healthcare Resilience and Implementation Science (CHRIS), a key facility in the Australian Institute of Health Innovation (AIHI), is seeking an exceptional Postdoctoral Research Fellow or Research Fellow to join our centre.
THE ROLE

Salary Package: Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Level A step 6-8) from $97,620 to $104,621 per annum or Research Fellow (Level B) from $110,273 to $130,471 per annum plus 17% employer’s superannuation and annual leave loading

The Role
The Centre for Healthcare Resilience and Implementation Science (CHRIS) is seeking an exceptional Postdoctoral Research Fellow or Research Fellow, to conduct collaborative research across a complex mix of projects. The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team seeking to facilitate uptake of evidence-based practice and conduct health services research projects.
This position will focus predominantly on research using mixed methods, from design through analysis and publication.
About You
You will have a background in a health-related field such as health services research, medical sciences, implementation science or psychology. You will have strong writing skills and be able to contribute to research papers. You will enjoy working both independently and as part of a team.

The Centre for Healthcare Resilience and Implementation Science (CHRIS) is part of the AIHI within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences and has a successful track record of undertaking research and evaluation projects on health sector issues since 1991. Its core interest is to investigate issues of policy, governance and leadership in the health sector. It is involved in conducting original research into health systems improvement, providing a scholarly capability by which to evaluate health sector policies, programs and projects, and contributing to undergraduate medical, postgraduate health services management, and public health and doctoral education.

Selection Criteria for Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Level A applicants:
Essential:

A PhD in a relevant discipline
-
An ability to work with a range of stakeholders across healthcare including policy makers, hospital executives, clinicians, patients and consumers etc.

Demonstrated ability to conduct literature searches
-
Proven experience with research design e.g., developing a protocol, developing or adapting methods to answer specific research questions
-
Demonstrated ability to collect and analyse quantitative data, and qualitative data
-
Demonstrated experience with the preparation of presentations and manuscripts for publication
-
Demonstrated organisation skills such as in coordinating projects, meetings, planning research projects and meeting deadlines
-
Demonstrated experience in the preparation of grant applications and ethics applications
Desirable:
-
Experience with analysis of large healthcare-related datasets
-
Experience using SAS, R, STATA, NVivo, or survey tools

Experience analysing data relating to patient experience or patient-reported measures

A track record of peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations
Selection Criteria for Research Fellow – Level B applicants:
Essential:

A PhD in a relevant discipline

Excellent communication skills with an ability to work with a range of stakeholders across healthcare including policy makers, hospital executives, clinicians, etc.

Demonstrated track record of contributing to peer reviewed publications in high quality journals
-
Evidence of capacity to secure future research grants.

Demonstrated experience with successful research student supervision
-
Demonstrated experience contributing to the academic life and administrative tasks of the broader workplace, with a track record of effective teamwork
-
Demonstrated ability to undertake quantitative data collection and analysis, using statistical packages
-
Evidence of providing expertise in the drafting of final reports including journal articles and technical reports

Evidence of capacity to present papers at conferences and workshops
Desirable
-
Experience analysing large healthcare-related datasets
