Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Economics (Macro-Romei group)

Applicants are invited to apply for a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Economics. Applicants must have a relevant PhD and relevant experience to develop and manage research projects as part of the overall research agenda in the ERC/UKRI grant. The post is available from August 2023, with a flexible start date to October 2023 and will be full time for the duration of 2 years with the possibility of a further two-year extension, subject to funding.

The post-holder will be a member of a research group, coordinated by Dr. Federica Romei, with responsibility for carrying out research as part of the ERC research project “Heterogeneous Agents in Heterogeneous Countries”. The post holder may also provide guidance to junior members of the research group including research assistants, PhD students and project volunteers.

You will hold, or be close to completion of, a PhD in a relevant discipline together with relevant experience. You will possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work with established research programmes. These skills include some, or all, among macroeconomic models with heterogeneous agents, familiarity with international macroeconomics and excellent MATLAB programming skills. Experience with micro-data analysis would be an asset. Experience with micro-data analysis is desirable. You will also have the ability to manage your own research tasks and work with some independence on assigned work.

This is a two-year, fixed-term contract (externally-funded) post which can commence from August 2023.
