Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Sports Nutrition x3

We are looking for three Postdoctoral Research Fellows in Sports Nutrition to join the Carnegie School of Sport at Leeds Beckett University. Successful candidates will work alongside Dr Nessan Costello and other leading researchers in the Carnegie School of Sport, undertaking world-class research in sports nutrition and exercise metabolism. Candidates will also be expected to engage in broader teaching and learning, and knowledge exchange activities.

One Postdoctoral Research Fellow (1.0 FTE) will be embedded within Leeds Rhinos Rugby League club, providing sports nutrition to first team and academy players a maximum of three-days per week. The sports science support team from the Carnegie School of Sport, embedded in Leeds Rhinos is led by Prof. Ben Jones and includes over 10 research-practitioners. The other two-days will be based at Leeds Beckett University, undertaking high quality applied research to further understand the energy requirements of professional rugby league players. When in Leeds Rhinos, day-to-day the successful candidate will report to Leeds Rhinos Performance Director Richard Hunwicks.

One Postdoctoral Research Fellow (1.0 FTE) will be embedded within Huddersfield Town Association football club, providing sports nutrition to first team players a maximum of three-days per week. The sports science support team from the Carnegie School of Sport, embedded in Huddersfield Town is led by Dr Stacey Emmonds and includes five research-practitioners (three of whom are based in sport nutrition). The other two-days will be based at Leeds Beckett University, undertaking high quality applied research to further understand the nutritional requirements of professional soccer players.

One Postdoctoral Research Fellow (0.5 FTE) will be based at Leeds Beckett University, working closely with Dr Nessan Costello undertaking high quality applied research to further understand the energy requirements of elite athletes.

All candidates will have access to the world-class facilities at Leeds Beckett University, including the £45 million Carnegie School of Sport building, housing a DXA unit and world-class physiology and biochemistry laboratories.
