Postdoctoral Research Fellow Dr. Tu Lab -Department of Pharmacology and Neuroscience

The Department of Pharmacology and Neuroscience is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Trainee for an LB595 funded project to study the role of mitochondrial dynamics in cancer metastasis.

Applicants must have a PhD in Biology or a relevant field. Preference will be given to applicants with research experience in any of the following areas: cancer biology, immunology, cell biology, molecular biology, and animal handling.

 

Under general supervision, provides a wide variety of moderately complex laboratory testing and technical lab support for a research facility.  Requires knowledge of the processes/procedures in testing, documenting experiments, maintaining laboratory notebook, analyzing data, and reporting using complex statistical computer software.

This position is 100% grant funded.

Schedule:  Monday-Friday; 9:00 am-5:30 pm; depending upon research needs position may require evening, weekend, and holiday work.  
 

Qualifications:

• Doctorate Degree in Biology or a relevant field;
• 1-3 years’ experience; preference in cancer biology

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Prior experience in cancer biology is preferred;
• Strong ability to interpret data and to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues;
• Strong work ethic;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to work independently;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel; PowerPoint and Outlook;
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays depending upon research needs
