Postdoctoral Research Fellow

This full time post is available from December 2022 on a fixed term basis until 31 July 2024.

Summary of the role
The College wishes to recruit a full time Postdoctoral Research Fellow to participate in the Flex-Cool-Store project. You will lead a work package on the policy issues associated with the future of cooling in buildings and will investigate policy maker perceptions of this issue, developing this limited policy change literature.

This EPSRC funded post is available from December 2022 until 31 July 2024 (20 months). Requests for home working in the UK will be considered.

The post will include carrying out primary research, expected to be based on grey literature reviews and elite interviews with experts and policy makers. You will also be expected to write up this research and submit it for publication into leading academic journals. Alongside the research, you will also be expected to contribute to the wider project work with colleagues at the University of Cardiff and support project communications and management. We will also provide some freedom for you to continue your research interests and support you to become an independent researcher.

About you
Applicants will possess a relevant PhD or equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study. The successful applicant will be a nationally recognised authority in energy policy or policy change more generally and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop research programmes and methodologies. The successful applicant will also be able to work collaboratively, supervise the work of others and act as team leader as required. Applicants will be able to independently run and deliver policy focussed research of publishable quality.
