Applications are invited for a postdoctoral Research Fellow to conduct research on environmentally sustainable best practices for human brain imaging and data pipelines (MRI and related brain scanning techniques). The successful candidate will be part of Charlotte Rae ’s Adaptive Behavioural Control Lab at the University of Sussex . The post-holder will also work closely with Raghavendra Selvan (University of Copenhagen) and Gabrielle Samuel (King’s College London). Candidates with experience in MRI brain scan analysis techniques and software (e.g. FSL, SPM), big neuroimaging datasets (e.g. Human Connectome Project, UK Biobank), and scientific computing, are particularly encouraged to apply.

There is a vibrant research community in human neuroscience at the University of Sussex, including key infrastructure such as a 3T MRI and high performance cluster. Sustainability is an important priority for Sussex, both operationally (e.g. Sustainable Sussex ), and as a topic of research (e.g. Sussex Sustainability Research Programme ).

The University is committed to equality and valuing diversity, and applications are particularly welcomed from women and black and minority ethnic candidates, who are under-represented in academic posts in Science, Technology, Engineering, Medicine and Mathematics (STEMM) at Sussex.
