Postdoctoral Research Associate IN BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION AND RESTORATION ECOLOGY

The High Meadows Environmental Institute at Princeton University seeks a postdoctoral or more senior researcher to work with Professors Robert Pringle and David Wilcove, Professors in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, on the strategy, ecological dynamics, and functional implications of restoration and rewilding initiatives in terrestrial African ecosystems. The successful candidate will work with Pringle and Wilcove to develop, refine, and implement one or more projects. Specific topics of interest include (but are not limited to) searching for generalities in the dynamics of wildlife community reassembly; developing strategies to guide wildlife translocations and other conservation interventions; identifying ways of benchmarking 'success' in restoration/rewilding; exploring the effects of restoration efforts on particular populations or species of concern; and understanding the policy context of restoration/rewilding initiatives. 

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in ecology, conservation biology, or a related field. The ideal candidate should have training and experience in one or more of the following areas: statistical modeling and data visualization for multivariate and time-series data; GIS and remote sensing; macroecological or meta-analytical synthesis; field-based study of African savannas and grasslands and their resident fauna; animal movement; applied conservation work.

The appointment is for one year with possibility of renewal based on satisfactory performance and funding.
