Position Highlights This is a postdoctoral research fellowship position under the direction of Dr. Sbarra in the UArizona Department of Psychology. The position is funded by a NIA research award to Dr. Sbarra and will support the research activities on this research grant.

Duties & Responsibilities

Leading secondary data analyses using biometric statistical twin models in the area of social connectedness and health; writing empirical and theoretical research papers that are derived from these analyses; contribute to a vibrant scientific research laboratory; assist in mentoring doctoral students and support in leading other activities in the laboratory.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Advanced knowledge of the statistical software package R.
Interest in statistical methods for causal inference.
Demonstrated strengths as a data analyst, especially with complex biometric twin or bioinformatic or molecular genetic data.
Collaborative, generous, curious, and humble scientific orientation.
Effective communication in and around lab environments.
Strong and demonstrated leadership skills.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in any area of psychology. The selected candidate must have a conferred Ph.D. upon hire.
  • Experience, competence, and confidence with advanced statistical methods.
  • Experience in computational social science.
  • Experiencing with open, transparent, and reproducible research workflows.
