To learn more, please visit us atWhat We WantThe Postdoctoral Research Associate will be responsible for conducting research experiments, managing lab operations, assisting with animal care and reagent preparation, and helping in the training of students on lab techniques. If the description sounds exciting to you, we invite you to apply to be considered for this opportunity to join our team.What You Need to KnowSalary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate’s education and experience.Required Education and Experience:Appropriate PhDPreferred Education and Experience:Ph.D. in evolution/genetics or closely related fieldExperience designing and completing experimentsExperience publishing research results in peer reviewed journalsExperience conducting and coordinating field workExperience mentoring undergraduate and graduate studentsExperience with machine learning, phylogenetics, molecular sexing techniques, and invertebrate husbandryStrong background in statisticsResponsibilities:Research/experiments: Conducts research experiments. Collects data and analyzes results.Documentation and publishing: Writes manuscripts, presents findings, and contributes to grant proposals.Training: Trains and mentors junior scientists on lab techniques.Lab Maintenance: Responsible for general lab duties which includes but is not limited to purchasing model organism care, and assisting with reagent preparation and animal care, as well as performing other duties as assigned.Why Texas A&M University? ​We are a prestigious university with strong traditions, Core Values, and a community of caring and collaboration.
