To learn more, please visit our website:What We WantAs a Postdoctoral Research Associate, you will be part of a team working on a project focused on cutting-edge nonlinear optical and scattering techniques. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will support the building and implementation of nonlinear scattering setups and contribute to our ongoing research on understanding the role of interfaces in liquid-liquid phase separation and carbohydrate recognition. If the description sounds exciting to you, we invite you to apply to be considered for this opportunity to join our team.What You Need to KnowSalary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate’s education and experience.Special Note: Due to this position’s salary having all or a portion of it being funded by grants or contracts, the continuing salary and overall employment is contingent upon availability of these funds in the future.Location: May require working during the night and on weekendsRequired Education and Experience:PhD in Chemistry, Physics, or related fieldRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:A strong background in nonlinear optical techniques or ultrafast spectroscopyOptical setup construction as it pertains to required researchExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to lift and move heavy objects, including tanks and other laboratory equipmentPreferred Qualifications:Experience working with vibrational spectroscopy or micro spectroscopy techniquesExpertise in laser systems, nonlinear optics, and optical setup constructionResponsibilities:Experimental setup design and building: Design and build a nonlinear scattering setup. Optimize the setup for various interfacial molecular structure measurements.Experiments and data analysis: Designs and performs experiments at soft matter interfaces using nonlinear vibrational spectroscopy and scattering.Collaborations and publication: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on research and publications.
