Department/Area | Health Policy and Management |
Position Description | The Department of Health Policy and Management has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral fellow in health policy and management. This position is for an exceptional, independent, and motivated postdoctoral fellow supervised by Dr. Michael Barnett. The candidate will pursue NIA-funded projects in US health care delivery in outpatient specialty care and nursing homes using comprehensive, state-of-the-art medical claims data from multiple sources. These projects are focused on understanding how the health care delivery system meets or fails to meet the needs of the most vulnerable Americans and how policies can improve gaps in care, particularly in the COVID-19 era. There is ample freedom to pursue projects in health policy and health care delivery outside of these focus areas. This position provides an opportunity to conduct independent research on cutting edge questions in health policy, be first author on multiple manuscripts, and draft grant proposals. Dr. Barnett’s publications and recent work can be reviewed at his Harvard Catalyst site: https://connects.catalyst.harvard.edu/Profiles/display/Person/2952 . We are particularly seeking individuals looking for training and research experience in health services research, health economics, and health policy. This is a 24-month position, conditional on performance, based in Boston with possibility for extension. |
