Job Summary & Key Responsibilities Under the supervision of Dr. Violet D’Souza, the successful candidate will work on funded research projects that concern oral health of individuals with chronic diseases, specifically, head and neck cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. The Postdoctoral Fellow will be mentored to pursue an independent research career within the department.
Qualifications/Requirements of Position
  • Ph.D. in Dentistry, Epidemiology, Public Health, Nursing, or any related field in Health Science
  • A solid scientific background with expertise in quantitative and qualitative research
  • Proficiency in data management and quantitative and qualitative data analyses
  • Literacy with statistical software programs (SPSS, Stata, etc.)
  • Expertise in survey development tools (REDCap) is an asset.
  • Research project management experience is considered an advantage
  • A minimum of 2-3 first-author publications in reputable journals
  • Excellent written/oral communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are required
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively as part of a team
  • Experience in mentoring and supervising students and trainees and leading teams
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and sound judgment are required
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience with the older adult population
  • Participate in training and mentoring students and other trainees when needed
  • Recruit study participants, collect quantitative and qualitative data
  • Perform data analyses for quantitative and qualitative data and prepare reports, abstracts, and manuscripts

Salary Range/Pay Rate 50,000
