Welcome to the Department of Systems Biology at City of Hope, where we explore the intricate processes within lymphocytes and the immune microenvironment driving the development of lymphoid malignancies. Our research spans Hematology, Oncology, and Immuno-Oncology, with a focus on developing therapies targeting malignant lymphocytes. Join us in unraveling the complexities of diseases like systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and indolent lymphomas to make impactful discoveries in immunotherapy. As a successful candidate, you will:

• Conduct immune profiling using cytometry and single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNAseq).
• Perform in vivo assays including mouse genetics, intravenous and intrafemoral transplantation assays, subcutaneous pump implantation for delivery of candidate therapies, utilizing humanized mouse models, conducting pre-clinical testing of immunotherapies in xenotransplantation models, and utilizing bioluminescence imaging.
• Employ molecular biology and biochemistry techniques such as retroviral/lentiviral transduction, molecular cloning, high-throughput RNA/DNA sequencing, quantitative PCR, immunoblotting, immunofluorescence, Luminex, and CRISPR-based gene editing of immune cells.
