The Position
This is a key role in a friendly, motivated team working on a successful ARC Grant – Achieving a step change in the modelling of leaf respiration-photosynthesis relationships.
Variations in leaf respiration can have large impacts on ecosystem functioning and the Earth’s climate. This position will lead a study investigating links between daytime photosynthesis, nocturnal starch degradation and leaf respiration in darkness.
The position will involve extensive fieldwork in small teams, both in Australia and overseas.
The Person
We are looking for a qualified plant scientist with proven and comprehensive knowledge of plant physiology and biochemistry. The appointee will be able to analyse and interpret large data sets, and have a demonstrated capacity to publish papers in international journals. Post-doctoral research experience in areas of plant physiology, abiotic stress will be an advantage
