Posting Summary	Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for the Department of Pharmacology, Physiology and Neuroscience within the New Jersey Medical School. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), conducts research investigating physiological regulatory mechanisms of Transient Receptor Potential (TRP) ion channels. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Participates in experimental design and carries out experiments including animal surgeries. Operates and maintains experimental equipment; performs electrophysiology experiments Records and analyzes data from experiments. Assists Principal Investigator in data processing Maintains a proper data notebook pursuant to the standards of the Department and the PI. Contributes to the intellectual development of the project. Contributes to the writing of manuscripts. Submit proposal for post-doctoral fellowship funding. Performs literature search related to regulation of TRP ion channels.

COVID-19 Immunization Requirement	Under Policy 60.1.35 , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Based on current guidance, individuals are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 two weeks after receiving the final dose of any COVID-19 vaccine authorized or approved for use in the United States by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Failure to provide proof of primary vaccination and booster will result in rescission of a prospective employee’s offer of employment and/or disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience	Candidate must hold a Ph.D. and have a strong background in electrophysiology, molecular biology, fluorescence based Ca2+ measurements, and protein purification. Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and be able to work independently. Candidates in all-but-degree status will also be considered.
