Posting Summary	Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for the Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute (EOHSI) and Rutgers School of Public Health (SPH). The Postdoctoral Fellow will work under the guidance of Principal Investigator on tasks involving the combined use of systems modeling methods and data science approaches to characterize individual and population exposures to PFAS and associated pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of PFAS across human life-stages. These tasks will also include the stochastic optimization and application of environmental exposure reconstruction methods that employ forward environmental modeling in conjunction with reverse dosimetry of biomarker data using physiologically-based pharmacokinetic models.  Among the key duties of this position are the following: Contribute towards interdisciplinary research efforts pursued by the CDC-funded project “Exposure to PFNA and other PFAS in drinking water and associations with health-related outcomes in Gloucester County NJ” by participating in research tasks involving computational pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic and exposure reconstruction modeling. Participate in collaborative grant preparation with other investigators at Rutgers and other collaborative academic Institutions. Present results at internal meetings at EOHSI and at national or international scientific meetings.  Work in a team environment which includes undergraduate and graduate level students and post-doctoral fellows. Train students in the Computational Chemodynamics Laboratory of EOHSI. Perform research resulting in first-author, peer-reviewed publications.

Failure to provide proof of primary vaccination and booster will result in rescission of a prospective employee’s offer of employment and/or disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience	PhD or equivalent degree in chemical, biochemical, biomedical engineering, or a closely related discipline, and experience in computational systems modeling and in data science methods. Previous experience with methods for modeling human exposures to hazardous environmental agents
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities	Strong skills in stochastic process system simulation, data analytics, and interpretable machine learning.
