Job Title Postdoctoral Extension AssociateAgency Texas A&M Agrilife Extension ServiceDepartment Rangeland, Wildlife & Fisheries ManagementProposed Minimum Salary CommensurateJob Location College Station, TexasJob Type StaffJob DescriptionGENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop a multiple spatial and temporal using a combination of remote sensing platforms and temporal analysis to evaluate the distribution of prescribed fire, mowing, and grazing before the Panhandle fires. Use a combination of satellite imagery, drones and field work to evaluate vegetation changes due to the fire in prescribed burn, burn-out, mowed, grazed, and non-prescribed burn areas. This will be complemented with image classifications and landscape level analyses of vegetation regrowth. The combination of spatial and temporal analysis will provide novel insights into vegetation dynamics post-fire. Manage data, integrate information, collaborate across tasks, teams, institutions and the funding agency, present research findings, and publish findings in multiple outlets. Other duties as requiredRequired Education and Experience:Ph.D. in range management, conservation science, or closely related field.

Required knowledge skills and abilities:Good computer and communication skills.Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others.Preferred knowledge skills and abilities:Strong spatial analysis skills (GIS, Python, R)Good knowledge of landscape ecology principles.
