Doctoral degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical and Computer Engineering or a closely related field, completed by the start date of the appointment.Research experience in at least one of the following areas:● Chip design, tape-out, and testing, preferably with applications to AI systems● Design, analysis, and modeling of AI hardware such as deep neural network accelerators or neuromorphic computing● Emerging AI/ML models and hardware/software co-design for AI applications● Radiation testing of electronic systems, with an emphasis on single event effectsPreferred Qualifications:● Experience in designing and modeling fault-tolerant circuits, architectures, and systems● Experience in radiation testing of electronic circuitsBrief Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Associate to join a multidisciplinary research team focused on developing energy-efficient and fault-tolerant AI systems that can operate reliably in the radiation-rich environment of space. The project integrates expertise across multiple levels—from circuits and architectures to algorithms, models, and systems—and includes opportunities for radiation testing at the NASA Space Radiation Laboratory ( ) at Brookhaven National Laboratory ( ). This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of AI and space electronics, while collaborating with leading researchers at both Stony Brook University and BNL.Under the supervision of Professor in the at , the successful candidate will:● Conduct independent research in electrical engineering with applications in robust and efficient AI systems; design and develop circuits, methodologies, research experiments aligned with project goals● Analyze and evaluate experimental and simulation data using advanced and specialized techniques.● Prepare manuscripts and technical reports for publication; present findings at lab meetings and potentially at conferences and seminars.● Manage lab operations, including mentoring or supervising undergraduate and/or graduate students and research staff; provide training in research methods.● Assist in grant writing and preparation of research proposals; identify funding opportunities and participate in training activities.● Perform other duties as assigned.Senior Postdoctoral Associate:Required Qualifications: (as evidenced by an attached resume)
