Job Description:

Two Post-doctoral Associates in Polymer Science positions are available in the Department of Chemistry. The successful candidates will work under the supervision of Prof. Austin M. Evans (https://www.evansresearchgroup.org/) , focusing on macromolecular synthesis and polymer properties. This one-year appointment is renewable based on performance and funding availability.

The postdoctoral associate will conduct research in synthesizing and characterizing polymeric materials. The Postdoctoral Researcher will also be expected to mentor graduate students, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and assist in constructing funding applications.

Our group specializes in precision synthesis and rational control of macromolecular materials. By combining covalent and non-covalent approaches, we strive to achieve a precise correlation between structure and properties for next-generation energy storage materials, new types of filtration membranes, and cutting-edge mechanical materials. Expected Salary:

The salary is $50,000.00 and the compensation includes a benefits package.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in Chemistry
  • Experience in molecular and material characterization, including NMR, IR, mass spectrometry, SC-XRD, PXRD, TGA, TEM, and/or SEM
Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
• Ability to take initiatives, set priorities, time-manage, and resolve problem

The successful candidate should have a strong background in chemical synthesis and polymerization methodologies
