Job DescriptionJob Title: Postdoctoral AssociateDivision: NeurologyWork Arrangement: Onsite onlyLocation: Houston, TXSalary Range: Hiring up to $65,000FLSA Status: ExemptWork Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.SummaryBaylor College of Medicine and the department of Neurosciences is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to join a dynamic research team. The postdoctoral researcher will focus on cellular and biochemical analyses of protein aggregation, particularly in induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), to explore cellular mechanisms and protein dynamics.Job Duties

  • Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.
  • Evaluates and analyzes data.
  • Establishes new research protocols and procedures.
  • Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals.
  • Maintains laboratory operations.
  • Supervises research staff.
  • The postdoctoral researcher will focus on cellular and biochemical analyses of protein aggregation, particularly in induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), to explore cellular mechanisms and protein dynamics. Key responsibilities include executing and optimizing protocols for cellular assays, protein biochemistry, and high-throughput analyses, as well as utilizing basic bioinformatics to interpret data from iPSC models. The postdoc will also be involved in writing scientific papers, preparing grant applications, and contributing to the training and mentoring of graduate students. This role offers professional development through hands-on research, collaborative opportunities, and scholarly activities aimed at advancing knowledge in cellular protein aggregation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Computational Sciences, Computational Biology, Structural Biology, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Statistics, or related disciplines. May also include Ph.D. in Biology or Biomedical Sciences in combination with an M.S. or extensive multidisciplinary experience in one of the above quantitative fields.
