POSTDOC POSITION – Overcoming glioblastoma resistance Paris Brain Institute

The brain tumor group of the Paris Brain Institute is looking for a highly motivated and team-oriented post-doc with interest in immunology and glioma research. We offer an initial 3-year contract with extension options.

The candidate will lead a collaborative project with Harvard Medical School, supported by Paris Brain Institute America, aimed at addressing glioblastoma resistance and developing innovative therapeutic strategies for these cancers. The project will explore novel factors contributing to glioma resistance, including tumor cell plasticity and tumor/microenvironment interactions. Cutting-edge technologies will be used, including single-cell omics, high-dimensional imaging (CycIF, iDISCO), genomic editing, and functional validation in patient-derived brain organoids and murine models.

The ideal candidate should have strong proficiency in both spoken and written English, excellent teamwork abilities, and experience in cell culture, microscopy, and scRNAseq analysis. Experience in immunology or bioinformatics will be an asset. Prior experience in brain tumors is not required, and we encourage applications from diverse backgrounds. The candidate will collaborate closely with a research engineer and a bioinformatics postdoc (both already on board), as well as with other researchers based at the Institute (Franck Bielle, Nicolas Renier), and at Harvard Medical School (Keith Ligon, Sandro Santagata, Peter Sorger).

In addition to the exciting research project, we offer a great lab environment at the Paris Brain Institute

, a leading institution in Europe, with a diverse range of core facilities and an excellent scientific environment. The lab is well connected with the hospital and has access to worldwide unique cohorts of brain tumor samples. The lab will support postdoctoral trainees in their scientific careers.

Candidates should send their CV along with a cover letter explaining their research interests and e-mail addresses of two references, including her/his PhD supervisor to Mehdi Touat (mehdi.touat@aphp.fr). The deadline to apply is March 28, 2025.
