Offer Description
We are seeking a candidate to join our team for the project entitled “Understanding hypertrophic adiposity in children through single-cell spatial transcriptomics”. The main objective is elucidate the potential mechanisms that drive hypertrophic fat mass expansion in the context of childhood obesity, through combining human samples and animal models.
The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing various research tasks: Designing and executing experiments, employing specialized techniques, analysing data, or producing well-crafted articles.
The candidate will develop the project with some freedom and autonomously. Strong interest in building an independent career is encouraged and valued. Proof of having previous independent funding for young post-docs will be extremely valued.
Requirements
Skills/Qualifications
Training and experience in:
Experience in spatial transcriptomics, with strong emphasis on adipose tissue.
Specific Requirements
PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biomedicine or equivalent
Additional training and research related to the following will be highly valued:
Proficient in speaking and writing in Spanish: The candidate will closely work with surgeons and nurses at the surgery department and eventually with patient’s family.
