The Chair of Dependable Communication and Computation Systems (DCC) belongs to the Division of Computer Science at Luleå University of Technology and is now searching for a post doctor. DCC are especially active in such areas as novel algorithms and knowledge models for artificial intelligence system and software engineering for future industrial automation systems, efficient and dependable embedded computations and automation of energy systems and datacenters.

The research subject focuses on an integrated development of network architectures, resource efficient algorithms, and programming paradigms for enabling an application-tailored design of dependable communication and computation systems
Project description
The research activities at DCC focus mainly on various aspects of modern industrial computing, such as design and validation of industrial control and automation systems, simulation and verification and dependable communication.
The DCC group operates a unique laboratory “Factory in the Room ” that is used in research projects on future automation architectures for factories of the future. The laboratory combines models of flexible production systems integrated with industrial robots and cobots, and with the building automation and energy infrastructure. The laboratory is equipped with 5G access point and puts a special emphasis on the impact of wireless communication technologies enabling flexibility of industrial processes.
Duties
The position of a post doctor is open for research related to one of the key topics of DCC. It is expected that you strongly will contribute to research, publication and pedagogical activities, and will explore the wide industrial and research contacts of DCC towards future collaborative research projects, both national and international.
Qualifications
In order to be eligible for employment as post doctor you must have a PhD or a foreign degree equivalent to a PhD in computer science, electrical and computer engineering, industrial automation, or a similar topic is required.
Candidates who have been awarded a doctoral degree no more than three years before the application deadline will be given precedence, but other candidates may also be considered. Note also that the time between the doctoral degree and the application deadline can be considered shorter if there are special grounds, such as different types of statutory leave of absence.
Experience of a potential candidate in such priority areas, as industrial automation software architectures and Industry 4.0, artificial intelligence, formal models of computation, will be highly appreciated.
