A postdoctoral (or PhD) position is available at the Psychiatric University Hospital of Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin in the research group Multisensory Integration (www.multisensorymind.com) as part of the DFG grant project “Examining the neural network dynamics underlying the temporal integration window of crossmodal perception”. The project is led by Prof. Senkowski (Charité Berlin) in cooperation with Prof. Rohe (FAU – Erlangen-Nürnberg).

Application fields:
The Multisensory Integration group is dedicated to the study of electrophysiological signals in sensory and cognitive information processing in the human brain. We study these processes in healthy individuals and in mentally ill people. A major focus of our research is the investigation of neuronal synchronizations and their significance in norm-appropriate and norm-deviant information processing. Our studies are conducted at St. Hedwig Hospital, which houses a state-of-the-art EEG system (128 channels).
Responsibilities:
•Preparation, implementation and analysis of electroencephalography (EEG) studies on healthy individuals
•EEG data analysis: neuronal oscillations; source localization; computational modelling
•Publication of project data in peer-reviewed international journals
Prerequisites:
•Completed doctoral degree in neuroscience, psychology, medicine, physics or related fields
•Methodological background: experience in EEG data analysis and computational modeling
•Willingness to prepare own third-party project proposals for further research desired
•Sufficient knowledge of the German language to communicate with study participants.
