Offer Description

The CNRS post-doctoral candidate will be working on the ultra-high-field platform at Poitiers University Hospital, within the joint I3M laboratory (LMA, University of Poitiers) as part of the GLIOSRM7T regional project, which focuses on pre-surgical characterization of glioma extension using 7T MRI magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Part of this project focuses on the development of MRI image processing tools and spectroscopy data to analyze, integrate and contextualize multimodal imaging data for diagnostic support.

The aim of this position is to develop innovative methods for processing and analyzing 7Tesla MRI images of different modalities and formats (NIFTI, DICOM, etc.) using machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques. These methods will be proposed for improving the accuracy of medical diagnoses, identifying biomarkers and understanding glioma features in MRI data. The successful candidate will work in particular on :
– Development of a pre-processing pipeline for high-field MRI medical data (normalization, denoising, spatial registration) to optimize the quality and consistency of data used in analyses, and to facilitate the search for biomarkers in 7T images.
– Development of artificial intelligence algorithms and models for the processing and analysis of MRI images/spectra, focusing on the detection of tumor tissue and the quantification of metabolites obtained in the lesion, and correlation with clinical and anatomo-pathology data.

The selected candidate will work under the supervision ot the heads of the team DACTIM-MIS of the LMA, closely with multidisciplinary teams including radiologists, physicians and engineers to validate and evaluate the methods developed. The results obtained will be compared with clinical/preclinical references and interpreted in a medically relevant manner.

Eligibility criteria

Profile: Doctorate in Computer Science or Image and Signal Processing

– Medical computer programming: python, 3D slicer, LCmodel (optional), FSL, spm, ants)
– Artificial Intelligence skills and deep learning experience
– Proficiency in Tensorflow/Pytorch/scikitlearn deep learning platforms
– Knowledge of biology and medical imaging methods: MRI, MRS
– English: high level
