About the Role

A PDRA is sought to work on the effect of knockdown of haem biosynthetic genes on the development and function of adrenal glands and skin, to undertake wet-laboratory experiments, including mouse histology, the generation of 3D skin organotypics and analysis of RNA/DNA sequencing data. The appointee will be expected to prepare reports of research findings for public presentation, through seminars and conferences and peer-reviewed papers in addition to contributing to applications for funding.

About You

You should have a PhD in molecular biology, life sciences or a related field, with evidence of experience in general molecular biology techniques (DNA and RNA extraction, PCR, quantitative PCR), bioinformatics (transcriptomic data analysis), mouse histology and ideally expertise with skin models.

The post is based at the Charterhouse Square Campus in London. It is full time (35 hours per week), fixed term appointment for 2 years, expected start date November 2022. The starting salary will be Grade 5, in the range of £39,815 – £45,584) per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
