Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy (Ref.: 524135)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of Professor Clara Lau on research projects relating to anti-cancer herbal medicines and natural products
• Setup/establish cell-based (includes clinical samples) and animal models for pharmacological studies on anti-cancer agents
• Assist in operation of multidisciplinary research projects, preparing research manuscripts, reports and grant applications
• Assist in the supervision of junior research staffs and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A Ph.D. degree, preferably in Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Chinese Medicine, Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology
• Research experience in animal studies, cell culture and molecular biology, preferably in herbal medicines and/or cancer research
• Experience in genomic sequencing data analysis and human primary cell culture would be an advantage
• Self-motivated with a hardworking attitude, able to work independently and in an interdisciplinary team, organized and multi-task with good attention to details
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
• Good publication track record

The appointment will commence in March/April 2024 on a 2-years temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
