Offer DescriptionAt the Medical University of Vienna a position as Assistant Professor in Dermatopathology and Diagnostic Imaging according to § 99 (5) University Law 2002 (UG) is announced.The Medical University of Vienna is one of Europe’s premiere institutions for biomedical and clinical research. We are looking for a highly qualified scientist in the field of dermatopathology as well as diagnostic imaging in clinical dermatology and dermatopathology, with enthusiasm for inter- and multidisciplinary research, and commitment to teaching.The successful candidate will be offered an Assistant Professor position for a maximum duration of six years. Should the candidate meet the conditions stipulated in the qualification agreement, she:he will be promoted to tenured Associate Professor. Conditions and criteria are defined in the official career track guidelines of the university (Career scheme for the scientific University staff according to §99 Abs. 5 University Act 2002 “New qualification agreement” – ).The gross salary for this position is based on the collective agreement for university employees (§49, A2) and may be adjusted depending on previous work experience.The Department of Dermatology provides an excellent research environment including state-of-the-art research core facilities and ample opportunities to collaborate in wide range of research topics.RequirementsResearch Field Medical sciences » Medicine Education Level PhD or equivalentSkills/QualificationsYour profile:

  • Completed medical and scientific education with PhD or equivalent degree.
  • International recognition in the respective research area.
  • Successful and continuous acquisition of peer-reviewed third-party funding.
  • Educational and didactic qualifications including supervision of Masters and PhD students.
  • Diversity and gender competence.
  • International working experience.
  • National or international board certification in dermatology and dermatopathology.

Specific RequirementsThe candidate is expected to have an outstanding expertise in dermatopathology, other clinical diagnostic imaging methods, as well as associated machine learning applications to strengthen, expand and cross-link existing research topics within the university.Additional InformationSelection processThe MedUni Vienna aims to increase the proportion of women in leadership positions and therefore encourages qualified female candidates to apply.
