Provide support to the University’s Policy Governance and Policy Library Rejuvenation Project.

  • Centre for Academic Development – Ballarat Campus
  • Full-time, fixed-term appointment until April 2024
  • HEW 6 – $82,544 p.a. plus up to 17% superannuation

About the role

The Policy and Quality Services department support and maintain the University’s dual sector compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements for VET, Higher Education, International and Partner Providers.

The Policy Officer will support University priority projects aligned to the Governance Review specifically contributing to the currency, compliance, and implementation of the Policy Library Rejuvenation Project also facilitating the analysis, development, review and implementation of University policies and procedures.

You will:

  • lead the development and implementation of strategic projects and initiatives aligned to Policy Governance;
  • enhance the administrative management of the University Policy Library;
  • identify and report on critical issues impacting the development of written policy documents, reports and associated instruments; and
  • draft high quality and concise Policy documents, briefs, presentations, and reports for diverse audiences.

About you

You will have a comprehensive knowledge of the dual sector education environment and demonstrated understanding of relevant regulatory, government and funding bodies, combined with high level interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to be flexible and responsive within a dynamic, challenging and changing environment.

You will possess demonstrated:

  • ability to interpret legislation, regulatory and government requirements;
  • ability to undertake critical analysis of policy documentation aligned to VET, Higher Education and International regulatory requirements;
  • experience in Policy writing and the preparation of documents; and
  • ability to develop and work productively with key stakeholders.
