Boston University HLPM supports a wide range of faculty-driven research. PEPReC is a research Center under BU HLPM and VA-affiliated that completes high-level, impactful research and data analysis that has a national reach.

The Policy Analyst supports PEPReC in the development of high-priority policy, planning, and management initiatives and quantitative program evaluations with strong potential to improve the quality and efficiency of VA benefits. The policy analyst will work with initiative and independence and perform analytical work as independent contributor to the analytical team.

Essential Functions:

  • Identify and analyze public policy issues and their impact on Veteran outcomes, and VA operations. (20%)
  • Help develop and implement new research and evaluation projects. (10%)
  • Collect research and/or evaluation data. (10%)
  • Collaborate on research and/or evaluation activities with operational partners, professional research and service delivery staff. (20%)
  • Disseminate research findings through publications and liaison with VA Medical Centers, VISNS, and VA Central Office, as well as other federal agencies, and community, professional, and service groups. (20%)
  • Create and update budget spreadsheets and related supporting information. (20%)

 Job Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Public Health, Statistics, Health Services Research, Social Sciences, Epidemiology, or other related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years experience doing policy analyses
  • Field experience may include program evaluation, survey research, experience in authoring publications and presentations and in database management and statistical modeling
