Policy Advisor / Project Manager (0.8-1.0 fte)

Education and Student Affairs of Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) is looking for a Policy Advisor / Project Manager.

In the position of Policy Advisor/Project Manager you will be playing an important role in the translation and implementation of our strategic goals into workable solutions for our students and lecturers. The projects you will be working on can be in the field of education policy, but also in the field of education logistics or at the interface of education and IT. This can vary from policy and projects on topics as social safety, student guidance, student wellbeing, systems for testing, curriculum redesign, but also overall project management.
To come to successes in this position, it is of importance that you enjoy constructive stakeholder management. Most of your stakeholders are working inside one of the scientific departments and in our service departments and off course our students are essential stakeholders for us.

Your tasks:

• Collecting information to draft policy proposals (tactical and operational).
• Draft implementation plans and make sure the policy is implemented in the organization.
• Perform a business case analysis and/or feasibility tests on policy and project proposals.
• Check for links to either custom oriented and efficient working and/or strategy 2030 of the university.
• Manage projects to e.g. implement educational tools and software TU/e broad, that have high impact and broad spectrum of stakeholders involved and projects that can have impact on the organization and service.
• Plan, schedule, and maintain project timelines. Provide daily communication, direction, and support to all project participants. Reporting to the stakeholders.

The Department and the Team

The Education and Student Affairs (ESA) department is the central service point for lecturers and (prospective) students of the Eindhoven University of Technology and provides a range of services in the field of educational support, education logistics, study skills, career guidance, use of ICT resources in education, professional skills and language education. In addition, ESA supports the Executive Board, the Deans of the Bachelor’s College, Graduate School and Honors Academy, as well as the faculties in the areas of educational policy, laws and regulations, quality assurance, training and institutional accreditation, educational innovation and internationalization. 

Within the ESA department, as policy advisor/project manager you are part of the Policy, Advice & Projects department. You will mainly work on subjects of tactical educational policy and regulations, and consequently projects related to educational policy, its implementation and evaluation and/or projects that are related to operational excellence and customer intimacy, e.g. optimizing processes or implementing new systems for education support.
