Description

 

Serves as the first line responding sworn department member for accomplishing the department’s mission and goals as they pertain to protection of life and property, the provision of patient healthcare services in the hospital, and the provision of all other services required by UAB and the department. Interacts with general public, fellow officers and outside agencies in the performance of duties. Uses various software such as Microsoft Windows, Excel and other applications specific to police operations.

 

Hourly Pay Range: $20.00 – $34.30

 

Qualifications

 

High School diploma or GED required. Candidates who do not possess an Associate’s degree or higher must also pass the Alabama Basic Skills Test administered by the Alabama Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission (APOSTC) prior to APOSTC certification. Certification by the Alabama Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission (APOSTC) required. Non-certified applicants must receive certification by an approved APOSTC Academy during probationary period. Currently licensed with a Driver’s License from the State of Alabama required.
