Physiotherapist/Talent Development – Acute Lead

Acute Lead Position is expected to be a 0.4 FTE (Full time Equivalent) and is subject to ongoing assessment based upon operational needs.

The Talent Development Acute Lead, reporting to the National Director of Talent Development is responsible for creating regional opportunities for onboarding, training, mentorship/coaching, and education aligned to the CBI Health/National Training and Development strategic priorities. Collaborates with the regions’ Operations leadership and guides the regional Talent Development Leads to ensure education, onboarding, training, and mentorship/coaching are supporting the regional service delivery needs. The Acute Lead also participates in the creation, curation and delivery of education materials and resources and is a champion for best practice standards of care. As the Acute Lead, you will also provide client access to care delivering rehabilitation services, effectively building rapport, facilitating accurate assessment and comprehensive treatment planning that consistently results in clients meeting or exceeding their goals and expectations.

Your Role:

  • Works with operations to ensure education, onboarding, training, and mentoring/coaching opportunities highlight the depth of regional needs across disciplines/programs and align to the National Talent Development strategy
  • Coordinates and executes the regional education calendar ensuring consistency with the national education calendar and opportunities align to regional needs for acute service delivery
  • Leads the Acute regional Talent Development team, supporting team member success in their role through feedback, coaching, training, and development
  • Supports Operations on coordination of onboarding, training, mentorship/coaching and resources ensuring that all Acute disciplines and Acute services/programs are supported
  • Partners with Operations, Talent Acquisition, and HR in the coordination, delivery, and analysis of impact of role specific onboarding (0-90 onboarding) for all new hires as it relates to training and mentorship
  • Supports Operations and Mergers and Acquisition Team on coordination of mentorship and training resources for newly acquired clinics
  • Collaborates across disciplines to ensure there is an interdisciplinary approach for Acute clinical onboarding, training, and mentorship, as well as per networking and learning opportunities.
  • Works with regional Business Development and Innovation initiatives to ensure best practice, clinical standards and clinical delivery are being met
  • Collaborates with regional client experience/administration leaders to ensure that the clients are receiving the right treatment at the right time and appropriate triage training is being monitored and undertaken.
  • Provides a forum for team member feedback on professional development and training. Shares feedback with the National Talent Development team and collaborates with the team on action planning and execution of the action plans and strategies of the CBI Health leadership team.
  • Work with clients, and collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, to develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, directed toward enhancing, physical, functional abilities, function, lifestyle, and wellness.
  • You will participate in a collaborative care model providing holistic, comprehensive care to meet the needs of your clients.
  • Ensure all practices are conducted with integrity and in alignment with Best Practice and CBI Policies.

What you will need to be successful:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience in CBI Health/related rehabilitation provider with Acute rehabilitation service delivery including MVA programs, non-complex return to work programs, private pay, extended health models and a demonstrated understanding of business performance.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of clinical service delivery models.
  • Understands clinical excellence – competency and KPIs of discipline and programs.
  • Experience leading teams.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work within changing environments and assist operations with driving change with respect to talent development.
  • Ability to participate in and contribute to strategy discussions.
  • Support program development and ability to follow through on execution.
  • Excellent writing skills for the development of written practice guidelines/protocols, workflows, and training documents.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles with passion to develop others.
  • Excellent presentation skills, and able to engage others in person and virtual settings.
  • Willing to travel to other clinic sites within the province of Alberta.
  • Ability to participate in evening and weekend education delivery.
