The University of Minnesota’s Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is seeking a Board Certified / Board Eligible Psychiatrist to fill an Academic Track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level. The position consists of:

• 0.90 clinical FTE serving as an inpatient attending on an academic adult inpatient unit. This work includes teaching and supervision of residents and medical students. Leading and participating in case reviews and conferences for education.

• 0.10 academic FTE to support the missions of the University and medical school.

Role Description:

• Provide professional psychiatric adult inpatient services for the University of Minnesota Medical Center academic units.
• Work with the adult inpatient psychiatry team and clinical leadership to provide evidence-based inpatient services.
• Work collaboratively with inpatient leadership to achieve the missions of clinical, education, and research.
• Partner with administrative leadership to maintain and constantly improve high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Lead by example and engage learners and staff in creating a positive work environment that values excellence and teamwork and continually strives to exceed patient and family expectations.
• Support coverage for other providers when needed. This includes providing evening and weekend coverage as delivered in the call schedule.
• The exact amount of aFTE allocated to the role and the specific research and educational roles to be filled will depend on the successful candidate’s background, experience, skills, and qualifications.

• Graduate of an accredited ACGME/AOA Psychiatry residency training program.
• Board certified / Board eligible
• Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure.
• Ability to obtain and /or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota.
• Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
