Responsible for Physical Therapy patient service delivery including evaluation and treatment of routine and complex patients. Completes required documentation and communicates patient information across the continuum of care. Participates in training and program development and represents the department to the medical and general community. Demonstrates competence in the UCSD Medical Center core values.

This recruitment is for a Clinical Specialist in the field of Pelvic Health, working in UC San Diego Health’s Community Care setting, designed specifically to promote ease of collaboration with our world class physicians. We provide care to a diverse patient population with a variety of pelvic floor conditions for both men and women, including but not limited to urinary and bowel incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic and urinary pain, and sexual dysfunction. Responsibilities include delivery of biofeedback, internal myofascial trigger point release, behavioral training, strengthening and conditioning. Depending on experience, the selected candidate will be hired at the Physical Therapist II or Physical Therapist III level.

• Graduation from an accredited school of Physical Therapy approved by the American Medical Association and the American Physical Therapy Association, eligibility for registration by the National Registry of the American Physical Therapy Association.

• Physical Therapist (PT) license issued by the state of California.

• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.

• A minimum of of two (2) years of experience as licensed Physical Therapist

• Possession of a professional association recognized specialty certification or equivalent combination of training and experience.

• Credentialed Clinical Instructor.
• Experience in pelvic health physical therapy.
• Experience in an outpatient setting.
• Four to six years of experience as licensed PT.

• Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
• May flex and float between sites as needed.
• Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Job offer is contingent on successful engagement in the UC COVID-19 Vaccination program (fully vaccinated with documented proof or approved exception/deferral).

If applicable, life-support certifications (BLS, NRP, ACLS, etc.) must include hands-on practice and in-person skills assessment; online-only certification is not acceptable.
