PhD The Conservation of Threatened Amphibians in Coastal Environments

We are investigating the population distribution and demography of the threatened green and golden bell frog on the Central Coast of NSW – an iconic urban coastal settlement between Newcastle and Sydney.

The project involves regular monitoring of a number of bell frog populations on the Central Coast as a model for ongoing protection of the green and golden bell frog in their last remaining coastal habitats linked to intermittent open and closed lakes and lagoons (ICOLLS). The study involves a mix of fieldwork, community engagement and spatial analysis with a focus on both conservation science and coastal morphology. This project is supported by Central Coast Council and there is scope for this project to be upgraded to a PhD.
