PhD Student in Computer Science
The Australian National University
There are two fully-funded PhD positions available in the School of Computing at the Australian National University (ranked as the 1st university in Australia and 27th in the world according to the QS ranking 2022). See below for the application process.
Qualifications:
- M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Computer Engineering/Science or (Applied) Mathematics.
- Minimum GPA of 80 out of 100.
- Solid understanding of algorithm design, graph theory and probability theory.
- Good programming skills.
- Excellent grades in theoretical, mathematical, and programming courses.
- Proficient in English, especially great technical writing.
- Successful performance in research projects, such as B.Sc./M.Sc. thesis and semester projects.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Publications in prestigious conferences and journals.
- Successful experience as a Teaching Assistant.
- Strong background in some of the following topics: graph theory, probability theory, randomized algorithms, network security, social networks, game theory, and Markov chains.
