PhD project: FLIGHT DYNAMICS AND CONTROL

UFL

October 18, 2019 in Funding Opportunity

  • Title of project: FLIGHT DYNAMICS AND CONTROL
  • Funding agency (Optional):
  • Description: Projects consider developing mission
capability of novel aircraft through optimal design and maturation of
technologies that may include aeroservoelastic effects,
biologically-inspired control effectors, sensor-centric path planning,
time-varying adaptive structures, and operating environments ranging
from underwater to high-altitude hypersonic. Tasks may include
computational modeling, interpreting modes of flight dynamics, analyzing
aeroelastic effects, parametrizing design spaces, synthesizing
autopilots, trajectory generation, and experimental testing in both wind
    tunnels and flight fields.
  • Restrictions/Constraints:
  • Knowledge and skills needed: The candidate should
have a strong academic background. Analytical skills and strong
background in mechanics is expected. Background in FE is desired.
  • How to apply: Indicate interest on MAE application and send CV along with career interests to Dr. Lind
  • Faculty contact/webpage: Dr. Rick Lind, [email protected] , http://www.mae.ufl.edu/~rick
