PhD positions in Neuroscience

The International Graduate School of Neuroscience (IGSN) at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum is currently accepting applications from international candidates.

Beside several PhD positions are 2 scholarships offered in its three-year PhD programme starting in October 2023.

Research projects specialise in the areas of molecular, developmental, systems, cognitive, clinical or computational neuroscience, and comprise intensive training in state-of-the-art methods, as well as supervision by internationally renowned neuroscientists.
Research projects will be accompanied by high-level tuition in the field of neuroscience, in English. The 48-months programme will culminate with a PhD in Neuroscience.

For the PhD programme, applicants must hold a Masters, Diploma or equivalent degree in biology, chemistry, electrical engineering, mathematics, psychology, or other related fields and should have completed an experimental thesis. Medical students must hold the equivalent of a MD.

Competition for the available positions is strong. To be considered for the programme, the final grade of the obtained degree must be equivalent or better than the grade “good” (Note 1.7- Gut) in the German educational system.

Programme start: October 1st 2023.
