PhD Positions at the IMPRS-QST

Max-Planck-Institut für Quantenoptik

The International Max Planck Research School for Quantum Science and Technology is opening new PhD positions in summer/fall 2023. The IMPRS is a joint program of the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics (MPQ), the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) and the Technical University of Munich (TUM).

Quantum science and technology is a vibrant and multidisciplinary field of research at the interface of physics, mathematics, computer science and material science. With over twenty experimental and theoretical research groups, Munich is one of the leading research centers in this field.

We offer an excellent and coherent graduate program across the areas of atomic physics, quantum optics, solid state physics, material science, quantum information theory, and quantum many-body systems. The research school also includes soft skills courses, industry contact, and an international and interdisciplinary environment in strong exchange with partner programs. The IMPRS-QST is part of the Munich Quantum Valley (MQV) and closely connected to the Munich Center for Quantum Science and Technology (MCQST).

The IMPRS-QST is committed to recruiting extraordinary students from diverse backgrounds. We explicitly encourage female candidates to apply and welcome students from all countries!

Applicants must have a Master’s degree (or equivalent) before September 2023. Deadline for application is February 15th, 2023.

All PhD positions are funded and there are no tuition fees.
