PhD position within the Department of Chemistry, University of Basel

A PhD position is opening in the Department of Chemistry within the Delley research group at the University of Basel (https://delley.chemie.unibas.ch/en/ ). The student will become a member of the National Center of Competence in Research in Molecular Systems Engineering, NCCR MSE (https://www.nccr-mse.ch/en/home/ ), and will hence benefit from its strongly interdisciplinary environment, internal NCCR MSE events, and the training offered by the center.

Your position
The position can start as early as 1.12.2022 or later (starting date to be fixed upon agreement between candidate and Prof. Delley). The topic of the research project is ‘Electric field-assisted catalysis by immobilized molecular complexes ‘. This PhD project spearheads exciting new research directions in the Delley group and includes inorganic synthesis of molecular complexes, advanced surface chemistry, electrochemistry, and specialized spectroscopy.

Your profile
Candidates must be highly motivated, should recently have obtained a Master degree in chemistry or a related discipline, and bring a solid chemical background, and ideally experience in experimental inorganic or organometallic chemistry and synthesis, electrochemistry, or spectroscopy.
