About the Project
The successful applicants will join the University of Edinburgh, Heriot-Watt University, and Leonardo Ltd, one of the UK’s leading aerospace companies and one of the biggest suppliers of defence and security equipment to the UK. The project will be a part of the Leonardo Prosperity Partnership, a £3.3m partnership which seeks to address state-of-the-art design and engineering challenges. The applicant will be supervised by Dr. Stefano V. Albrecht and Dr. Ignacio Carlucho, and will work on topics related but not limited to:
· Robotic and Autonomous Systems
· Reinforcement learning
· Multi-agent reinforcement learning
Funding The offer includes a stipend higher than the standard UK Research Council rate (£20,716 per year) for 3.5 years and covers the full cost of tuition fees as well as an allowance for research-related travel.
Eligibility Applicants should have a bachelor’s or a master’s degree in robotics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field. These studentships are available to students from UK or EU, or students from nationalities who do not require an ATAS certificate to study in the UK. More information here.
