The Department of Physics, Institute for Solid State Theory, is offering a fully funded PhD studentship (tariff: 50% of 13 TV-L) for the duration of 3 years with teaching obligation of 2 hours a week.
Your task:
The research project aims to predict and optimize the photophysical properties of novel luminescent organometallic compounds by means of quantum-chemical electronic structure calculations and ab initio molecular dynamics simulations.

Our expectations:
– a Masters degree in Physics or a related subject is required.
– previous experience in the field of electronic structure calculations and molecular dynamics as well as their application to molećular and/or solid state specific problems is a prerequisite.
– good computer programming skills are expected
